Ben’s M.S. thesis project titled Identifying phenotypic traits critical for breeding winter malting barley adapted to Ohio and the genomic regions affecting those traits. His project was a Genome Wide Association Study that entailed growing a population of 350 diverse winter barley lines at three locations across Ohio the 2019–20 and 2020–21 field seasons and rigorously assessing 31 traits of importance. We continue to use his population material. In 2022 he took a position with KG Agri Products, Inc. (KAPI, https://www.kgagriproducts.com/) as their Field Sales Specialist.
